When you visit RecallHawk, we automatically collect:

- Referral data: How you arrived at our site (search engine, direct link, social media).
- IP address: Used for approximate geographic location (country/region level) and security purposes. Not stored long-term.
Information you provide
RecallHawk does not currently require account creation or login. If you contact us via email, we will collect your email address and the content of your message to respond to your inquiry.
2. How We Use Information
- Improve the Service: Understand which recalls and categories are most viewed to prioritize coverage.
- Monitor performance: Identify and fix technical issues, measure page load times, and ensure reliability.

All recall and FDA action data displayed on RecallHawk is sourced from publicly available US government APIs (openFDA, CPSC, NHTSA, USDA FSIS). This data is in the public domain. We do not collect or display any personally identifiable information about consumers affected by recalls.
7. Data Retention
Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' default retention settings (14 months). Contact emails are retained only as long as needed to resolve your inquiry.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Request information about what data we hold about you.
- Request deletion of any personal data (e.g., email correspondence).
- Opt out of analytics tracking (via browser settings or the GA opt-out add-on).
- Opt out of personalized advertising (via Google Ads Settings).
